What we collect

Your details: name, phone number, email address and postal address.
Your vehicle: registration, make, model, mileage, and MOT and tax status and history (looked up from the DVSA and DVLA using your registration).
Bookings and work: the services you book, appointment times, quotes, job notes, invoices and payments.
Messages: what you send us through our website forms, by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
Website data: technical information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit, kept in server logs for security.

How we use it, and our legal basis

To take and manage your booking and carry out the work (to perform our contract with you).
To keep invoices and records we must keep for tax and legal reasons (legal obligation).
To remind you when your MOT, service or road tax is due, and about bookings you have made (legitimate interests). You can ask us to stop these reminders at any time.
To send you offers, only where you have agreed or you are an existing customer and have not opted out (consent or the "soft opt-in" under PECR). Every message tells you how to opt out.
To keep our website and systems secure and to improve our service (legitimate interests).

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with:

BayPal, the garage management software we use for bookings, customer records, reminders and this website. BayPal processes data on our behalf and under our instructions.
Service providers who help us run the business, such as SMS, email and payment providers, under contract.
The DVSA, to record MOT test results as the law requires.
The police, courts or other authorities where the law requires us to.

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Customer, vehicle, job and invoice records: for as long as you are our customer and up to 6 years after our last work for you, to meet tax and legal requirements.
Enquiries and bookings that did not go ahead: up to 12 months.
Website security logs: up to 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it transferred to you or another business, and to withdraw consent at any time.
